Text: John 19:30, Philippians 4:13.
Memory Verse: “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Corinthians 15:10).
Grace means unmerited favour. That is, something that you cannot do on your own humanly speaking. Thus, everything we need in this life can be enabled by the grace of God. This grace is made available through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who shed His precious blood to pay for the sin of man. By his disobedience, man was heading towards God’s judgment. However, as He stepped up on man’s behalf, man received the enablement to live again. The grace of God is made strong in our weakness as humans.
God has promised the chosen people fabulous blessing this month. So, there is no need to consider our weaknesses or inadequacies as we aspire for God’s blessing this month. This is because there is sufficient grace. Therefore, receiving God’s blessing whether physically, materially or spiritually during this month and beyond, is going to be by grace.
How does grace work? Jesus’ unblemished blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary for the sin of man. The blood retains the potency to bail us out of every seemingly impossible situation. In John 19:30, Jesus said, "It is finished," and bowed His head and gave up the ghost. By this singular sacrifice, He defeated the power of sin and death and opened the door way for man's reconciliation with his Maker thereby reconnecting man to the earlier glory lost in the Garden of Eden. This way, everything that previously separated man from the glory of God became invalidated.
Therefore, anyone who receives Jesus Christ into his life as Lord and Saviour, receives a corresponding power to operate as a son of God. (John 1:12) By this power, we receive the grace to do all things. (Philippians 4:13)
Thus by God’s grace, we receive the power to make wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). By grace, we become beneficiaries of God’s blessings (2 Corinthians 8:9). The grace to receive heavenly supplies is also made available. (Philippians 4:19) With all this, we can take advantage of God’s grace by reconciling with God through genuine repentance and salvation. You can take a step further by asking for sanctification and Holy Ghost baptism, which will enable you to manifest the fruit of the spirit. This inherently ushers in nourishment into your life. You must not neglect this grace. Instead, ensure that the grace of God upon your life will never be in vain.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. By the reason of what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross of Calvary, I receive fresh grace for nourishment from above, in Jesus name.
2. By the power and authority in the spoken word of God, I declare that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me, in Jesus name.
3. By the enabling grace of God through the blood of the Lamb, I exchange my poverty for riches, in Jesus name.
4. O God our heavenly Father, save our nation from the brink of collapse, in Jesus name.
